Breast Cancer
Breast Cancer is the most common form of Cancer next to Skin Cancer. Observed in women over 50+ years; in rare cases, it does affect men too. Most women discover Cancer as a lump or swelling that is felt accidentally. Breast pain is an unusual symptom and Breast inflammation with swelling and redness signifies an advanced stage.
Oral Cancer
Oral Cancer includes Cancers of the Oral Cavity including the Lips, Gums, Tongue, Cheeks, and inner & upper parts of the Mouth. Mostly found in people consuming tobacco products and more so in men above 40 it is primarily caused by the use of tobacco and alcohol consumption and in some cases the sexually transmitted HPV virus too.
Thyroid Cancer
Thyroid Cancer is a solid Tumour Cancer that usually shows up as a nodule, or mass, in the Thyroid Gland, which is located at the front base of your Throat. The gland produces various hormones affecting Heart rate, Blood Pressure, Body temperature and weight, amongst other functions. The nodules can be big enough to create problems swallowing, shortness of breath, discomfort when moving the Head or Neck, hoarseness, changes to the voice and a persistent cough.
Lung Cancer
One of the most common Cancer forms in the world – Lung Cancer is caused due to increase in smoking and rising levels of air pollution. It’s mostly identified with persistent coughing that gets worse, wheezing, shortness of breath, chest pain and coughing of blood. One could always feel very tired and witness weight loss without any known cause.
Esophageal Cancer
Esophageal Cancer originates in the lining of the Esophagus – a tube that connects your Throat to the Stomach and carries food. Thus the food we intake including tobacco and alcohol is largely the cause of this form of Cancer. Most Esophageal Cancer symptoms aren’t noticeable until the Cancer is in an advanced stage when it may be hard to treat. One experiences symptoms like difficulty in swallowing, chest pain, pressure or burning with worsening indigestion or heartburn and certain hoarseness with sudden weight loss.
Stomach Cancer
Stomach Cancer or Gastric Cancer often originates in the cells of the Stomach. Stomach Cancer typically doesn’t show symptoms during the early stages. Its most common early signs like unexplained weight loss and Stomach pain show up only when the Cancer is more advanced. Most symptoms of Stomach Cancer are common with other conditions and need a Diagnosis to be sure of its prevalence. Symptoms include loss of appetite, trouble swallowing, fatigue nausea, heartburn, black stool or vomiting Blood, feeling full on a small intake, bloating and pain above the belly button.
Colorectal Cancer
Colorectal Cancer or Colon Cancer for short originates in the cells of the Large Intestine and the Rectum. Colon Cancer has no symptoms in its early stages and symptoms differ based on the size and position of the Cancerous Tumour in the Large Intestine. However one can experience a persistent change in Bowel habits, including Diarrhoea or Constipation or a change in the consistency of your stool, Blood in stool, Persistent Abdominal discomfort, fatigue, unexplained weight loss and a feeling that your Bowel doesn’t empty completely.
Pancreatic Cancer
Pancreatic Cancer is the uncontrolled growth of cells that form a mass tissue in the Pancreas. The tissue if malignant results in Pancreatic Cancer and usually has no early signs. As it progresses, one can observe upper Abdominal pain that spreads to the back and yellowing of skin and whites of the Eye. The symptoms also include light-coloured stool and dark-coloured urine discharge, nausea, loss of appetite, weight loss and fatigue. Some experience itchy skin, Blood clots in the body and the onset or worsening of Diabetes.
Cervical Cancer
Cervical Cancer originates in the cells of the Cervix or the lower part of the Uterus connecting the Vagina. Cancer usually develops from exposure to the Human Papillomavirus (HPV) which is a sexually transmitted infection. The symptoms of Cervical Cancer take years to develop and can be hard to detect. The early signs could be heavy Vaginal discharges, watery or bloody, with a foul smell; Vaginal Bleeding during intercourse, between Menstrual periods and Post Menopause and longer heavier than normal Menstrual periods. Some also experience painful urination, Bleeding in urine or stool, swelling in Legs, dull back pain, fatigue, loss of weight and appetite.
